EFFAT took action today to show solidarity to the all protesters in Hong Kong who are seeing their freedoms of assembly seriously infringed. Excessive force has been deployed against peaceful pro-democracy protesters who have been detained including youth and students, peacefully rallying for democracy.

The EFFAT delegation joined the International Trade Union Confederation and other organisations demonstrating in front of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels.

United in solidarity we speak with one voice demanding freedom of assembly and free speech, the release of arrested protesters and an independent inquiry into human rights abuses by police
